Confusatron,

My name is Alex Steed and I am currently working to compile a local
music compilation that will be released and distributed by Spencer
Albee's record label FPFC. It will be released toward the beginning of
July in the form of a double vinyl set. Production quantities are still
being discussed.

Collections of Portland music have been compiled and appreciated. The
point of our set is to reflect on what is going on in Portland beyond
the standard radio scene. We are interested namely in providing a
document about what is being recording in Portland by way of rock,
rockabilly, punk, blues, jazz and bluegrass. We're interested in
compiling and providing for music fans an artifact of Portland's musical
attitude in 2004.

We are contacting you and your musical entity because we are aware of
your accomplishments in the Portland music scene. If you are interested
in working with us to create this record, please let us know.

Best,

Alex Steed

My Reply:

Alex,

I would love to work with you on this record! Trust me when I say that my accomplishments in the Portland music scene have long gone unappreciated.

Some might say that this is because I am not involved in music, per se. Others may point to the fact that I have never actually been to Portland in either the US or UK.

But I have used Portland cement. My old car did have a vinyl top. People sometimes say I have an "attitude", though I am uncertain if this is musical in nature. And I certainly do love my musical entity.

So clearly I would be a good addition to your compilation. I only ask that my copy be supplied in digital format (CD/MP3/OGG/etc), as I do not have a record player.

I look forward to working with you, say "hi" to your brother John.
